Fish Report 6/3/2007
A mixed week. Saturday's trip was among the best this year, other days we had to work harder. I believe that everyday saw at least one limit along the rail, but we also had some folks struggling to finally break into double digits. I even had a pair of fellows doing their utmost NOT to get into double digits.
Fish Report 5/28/2007
The earlier parts of the week were far better than the weekend's fishing ~ lots of high teens to 25 fish limits decreasing to mid-teens around the rail. Today the bite came back around our favor. 'Why' will remain a mystery.
Fish Report 5/21/2007
RED HOT! - No they aren't. Pretty good though.
Seeing a few limits most days; at least on the days we can get out. Windy. Pain in the neck windy. Every time the NE howls the water temp dips. Have yet to see 60 degrees.
Fish Report 5/13/2007
Wheelhouse door shut; the boat's engine noise a dull thrum ~ front window hinged open; the shish of swells against the hull seem to echo. Sent to sea by distant flood waters, waterlogged timbers silently await an unwary mariner.
Fish Report 5/7/2007
A fine bit of a blow. NE gusts to 40 have turned the ocean upside down. Glad I'm not out!
We've had a few decent days of sea bass fishing. No limits since that first day on 'em ~ that last tog trip when we had 4 guys bagged out on cbass.
Fish Report 5/1/2007
I had a special tog trip today. Tried to finish the season with a bang ~ fizzled...
We did have one at 15 pounds and a precious few others. When the current quit so did the bite - for the rest of the day!
Fish Report 4/24/2007
A huge storm and a terrible tragedy since my last report. Effects from both will ripple through some families for generations.
A simpler thing ~ what's going on 'out front' with the bottom fishing.
Fish Report 4/9/2007
Snuck a couple days in - lost a few days too. Dagoned April snow; who'd a thought it!
More of a mixed size of togs now, or at least the last few days. Gotta have acorns before you have oaks...
Fish Report 4/1/2007
This past week found toggin' - eh, OK.
Really. A few days were just decent, one excellent, and a stinker.
Did have a fish tip the scale to 17 pounds. When your hot your hot ~ Sam's...
Fish Report 3/26/2007
The Coast Guard inspection went very well. No Worries! Lots and lots of work to get there though...
I'd imagine most are unfamiliar with the layers of paperwork and government regulation that go into a party boat operation - I'm pretty sure you'd rather keep it that way!
Fish Report 3/21/2007
Dicey with an easterly wind - but it's only 10 knots. The forecast has been holding a light east on Saturday for a few days, we'll see. Saturday 3/24/07 - Tautog trip - 15 people sells out - crabs provided - Reservations Required @ 410-520-2076.
Fish Report 3/18/2007
A lot closer to having my rig ready for inspection now. Just have to do two more bilges. Not that they aren't clean - want 'em super clean. My crew always seem to enjoy that. (Pinocchio syndrome)
Fish Report 3/13/2007
We had a couple good days this past weekend - some nice sized tog. Wasn't all gravy; had my head handed to me on Saturday. Really poor day and with a great bunch of regulars too; nicked a few dinners was all.
Fish Report 3/5/2007
A few weeks back when we left the dock it was 11 degrees in Salisbury. Pretty chilly for these parts. Breaking ice and easing through slush seem to be lie behind us now. That cold spell finally worked it's way into local marine waters though.
Fish Report 3/1/2007
Last Thursday's trip was ho-hum at best. A beautiful day, calm, but the bite was tempered, I believe, by cold water. The area I was fishing should have treated us far kinder.
Fish Report 2/23/2007
Friday's trip has been cancelled, but the weekend looks doable. The 24th and 25th - Saturday and Sunday 7 to 3 - reservations needed - 12 head sells out the rail - Dress warm~No Heat! If you book a spot make darn sure you give a good contact phone number in case I have to cancel-- Again! And, it is possible that the water will just get too cold - a bad day of fishing!
Fish Report 2/21/2007
To have had a camera Saturday last!
I'd been working on the boat the previous day and left the engines in gear to break up the ice in the marina.
Fish Report 2/19/2007
Well, of the 4 days that I thought we'd get out - just one. Saturday sure was a pretty day though! Calm and then building a little SWesterly set late; the day was gorgeous. And cold - cut slushy ice on the way out of the marina.
Fish Report 2/7/2007
Last Saturday was a decent day. Some fellows picked on 'em all day, others didn't get it going 'till late. 12 pounds or so was the pool winner with several north of 10. We tagged 5 fish over 20 inches and a bunch more over 14. For now, I'm not tagging shorts - just legal ones.
Fish Report 1/31/2007
Been jammed up with maintenance - the kind you have to fold yourself up and squeeze into the small places on a boat.
Much better to get it done - keep things in good shape.
